The Diocese of St Asaph are committed to:
- Growing and encouraging the whole people of God;
- Enlivening and enriching worship; and
- Engaging the world.
The Diocese are a family of over 7,000 regular worshippers, with 80 clergy, over 500 lay leaders, 1 cathedral, 214 churches, 7 Pilgrim Churches and 51 Church Schools.
There are large parts of the Diocese that are rural, however, there are also industrial and commercial areas around Deeside and Wrexham. There are also coastal areas which are home to holiday resorts and tourism is also an important industry for many parts of the Diocese.
The Diocese of St Asaph have created 20 Mission Areas with Shared Ministry Teams of both lay and clergy, with a view to bringing about change. These Mission Areas were formed following a review by the Church in Wales which resulted in the '2020 Vision'.
This vision was what we hoped the Church in Wales would be like in 2020, 100 years after its disestablishment from the Church in England. The review recommended that Churches worked together more closely rather than focussing on individual churches, which in turn would make them stronger.
The Bryn a Mor Mission Area brings together our 9 churches and our clergy and church members play an important part in the life of the church, whether this is leading worship, providing pastoral support, outreach or mission.

About the Bryn a Mor Mission Area
The Bryn a Mor Mission Area was formally commissioned in July 2017 by Bishop Gregory and was formed from the Area Deanery of St Asaph. It covers an area from Dyserth to Ffynnongroyw, and from Trelawnyd to Prestatyn, so part of the coastal strip but also rural hinterland of the Diocese.
